Prior to founding my consulting firm Exantium , I was fortunate to work for six years as a strategy advisor for Dubai Smart Government and the federal eGovernment program in the United Arab Emirates.
Throughout these years, I contributed to many key initiatives and projects in Dubai, UAE and the GCC including initiating and the open data initiative for UAE government in 2010 and launching the first open government data portal in UAE in 2011 as part of the national portal (government.ae).
Now I continue following my passion for innovation in the public sector by working with my clients, and here are some of my recent activities:
- Participating at the United Nations eGovernment Expert Group meeting in March 2015 at the UN HQ in New York City. In the meeting, we discussed the emerging e-Government issues and trends but also exchanged views on shaping the next UN eGovernment Survey 2016.
- Working with Saudi Arabia eGovernment program (Yesser) on open data and citizen participation project, including developing national open data handbook and government-wide policy guidelines for eParticipation and citizen engagement.
- Advising ictQATAR on designing and running the e-Participation and Open Data Forum in December, 2014.
And I’m happy to work with you to support your organizations activities on these areas, just drop me a line!
